Transcription: Hi, and welcome to episode 26 of our second season of Self-Care for Educators. I'm your host, Tina Boogren. First and foremost, if my voice sounds funny, I've got a cold as I'm recording this. I am ... I'm on the upswing, but I caught a non-COVID cold that kind of put me out of commission for a few days, but I'm back on the, on the upswing. But, if my voice sounds funny, that's why. So, this week's invitation is an actual invitation. I have a bunch of events coming up that I would love, love, love for you to join me for. Most of them are in-person and the energy of in-person workshops ... Oh, as incredible as ... We're just so grateful to be back doing these. And, I've been kind of pushing these a little bit on social media, and I keep getting individual questions about who the audiences are, what they are ... So, I thought, you know what, this week I'm going to do an actual invitation to tell you about some of the amazing events that I have coming up that I would love for you to join me for.

First up is my Supporting Beginning Teachers workshop that will be in Houston, Texas at the Woodlands, April 4th and 5th. This workshop is specifically for those who support new teachers, coaches, mentors, leaders. The book that I utilize for, this is my second edition of Supporting Beginning Teachers. So, this is a great workshop if you've already been through my original Supporting Beginning Teachers workshop, come join me for the updates. So, I've got new research, new understandings, a somewhat a familiar approach with some updates to that. So, if you've already been to one of these workshops, oh, join me to get all the updates and fresh new thinking. This is also tied to The New Art and Science of Teaching--an update that, that you all have been requesting for a long time. So, I cannot wait for this workshop. Please, please join me. That one's April 4th and 5th in Houston, Texas. That is my Supporting Beginning Teachers.

The next one, this one is here in Colorado. Yay! Just outside of Denver at our offices in Centennial. This two-day workshop is on April 11th and 12th, and it is the Improving Teacher Development: A Guide for Teachers and Coaches workshop. This utilizes Dr. Marzano and team's new book called Improving Teacher Development and Evaluation. This is not the evaluation side of things. It focuses on really how do we increase our expertise? Both from an individual teacher's perspective and as a coach working with, with individual teachers. Again, this one is April 11th and 12th in Centennial, just outside of Denver. And, I would love to see you there. Again, a great workshop for coaches, individual teachers, leaders.

Next up I am spending a week in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am so excited. I love Minneapolis. Oh man. I've got two back-to-back day workshops. If you could join me for the whole week, that would be amazing, but I know that's hard. So, the first two-day workshop will be April 19th and 20th. And, this is my Effective Teaching: The New Art and Science of Teaching workshop. This is exactly as it is in the title. This is a deep dive into our instructional framework, The New Art and Science of Teaching. So, this is really good for those of you just starting to dip your toe into kind of effective teaching, what an instructional framework is. Those of you interested in starting the high reliability schools journey, and you're wanting to know more about that kind of level two, an effective teacher in every classroom and the framework that we utilize. So, this will be an introduction and deep dive into The New Art and Science of Teaching. So, that's for everyone. That's teachers and coaches and mentors and leaders, everyone on April 19th and 20th in Minneapolis.

Then I get to stay in Minneapolis. I am so excited and the next two days would be April 21st and 22nd. And, this is a--drum roll please--the Self-Care for Educators workshop. You know, this is my jam. I love all of these workshops, but this one, this is the sweet spot for me, as you know. So, this workshop is for everyone. I mean everyone. I would love, love to see teachers and coaches and wellness teams and paraprofessionals and leaders, everyone. This workshop is for everyone. It's truly a deep dive into how we take care. The book that we utilize most heavily for this workshop is my Take Time for You: Self-Care Action Plan for Educators, but I will also be pulling in resources from my 180-Days from Educator Wellness, the book I coauthored with Tim Kanold. All that I'm going to bring you the most relevant most up to research view on this. I'm so excited. You guys, please join me. Here's what I want you to know about that Self-Care for Educators workshop. It's not fluff. We're going to tie all the pieces that we talk about in terms of taking care of adults back to student achievement. There will be a connection there. In fact, what I utilize to talk about, uh, self care in this workshop is Maslow's hierarchy of needs. So another resource I'll be pulling in for this is Motivating and Inspiring Students, because everything that I talk about here for adults also pertains to students. So, this is not the bubble bath self care that feels like how could I possibly take two days away from my normal job to go attend this? And, I'm going to say, Yes, you need to. This will tie back to your day-to-day work. I promise so that Self-Care for Educators workshop also in Minneapolis on April 21st and 22nd.

Next. I will be doing the Improving Teacher Development workshop that I mentioned that I'll be doing in-person in Colorado. On April 11th and 12th. I will also be doing a virtual version if it doesn't work for you to travel. So, this will be a live virtual event with me on April 26th and May 5th. On April 26 and May 3rd. So, this will be via Zoom. It will be everything that you get in the in-person workshop, just done virtually. So, I understand that travel is hard. Many of us can to travel. Budgets vary from school to school and district to district. So, this might be an option if you're interested in a view of Improving Teacher Development, but you just can't get to Colorado on April 11th and 12th. So again, this virtual workshop will be April 26th and May 3rd, and this will utilize a Marzano's new one of the new books, um, Improving Teacher Development and Evaluation, but we will be focusing on the development side of things.

As we look ahead, I'm also just going to do a teaser for a couple of other things coming up. So, I will be in Des Moines, Iowa with my team from Marzano for the High Reliability Schools Institute. This is kind of a mini version of our High Reliability Schools summit, and that will be on June 14th through 16th. This is for everyone thinking about the HRS journey. Oh, yay. We focus really on kind of the first three levels of HRS, and I can not wait. I can not wait for this in Des Moines. So, this will be with my colleagues, Shelley Gies and Mario Acosta. So, we will see you in Des Moines on June 14th through the 16th.

We will also be doing the High Reliability Schools Institute, same thing, this time on July 27th through 29th in Fort Smith, Arkansas. We do so much incredible work in Arkansas, and we're so excited to bring this to our Arkansas folks and those where it's easier for you to travel in July and get to Arkansas again, July 27th through the 29th in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

And finally thinking kind of way ahead, I am so excited that my colleague and partner and friend, Tim Kanold and I will be hosting Wellness for Educators: Live Your Best Life events, institutes, if you will, coming up in the fall. We will be in Plano, Texas on September 27th through the 29th. And, we will be in Westminster here in Colorado, outside Denver on November 29th through December 1st. That will be Tim and I and our incredible colleagues, Jasmine Clark and Regina Owens. So thrilled and excited. That is two and a half day institute taking a deep dive into our book, Educator Wellness, and thinking about how do we bring all of this back for ourselves, for our staff? How do we combat ... What we know is, is on the horizon in terms of attrition, how do we avoid burnout? All of our best, best resources and guidance ...

And then finally, the last event that I have coming up is the Effective Teaching Institute, which is a deep dive into The New Art and Science of Teaching with my colleagues. Once again, this will be with Phil Warrick and I believe Shelley Gies again in Hot Springs, Arkansas, October 17th, through the 19th. So, that again is a deep dive into effective teaching.

Whew. That's a lot of events and I've actually gotten 10--I always commit to 10 minutes or less--and I'm just a tick over 10 minutes, but that was a lot to share. So, if you want more details, please go to MarzanoResources.com. MarzanaResources.com and you can click on it or you can click on my name and go to events and you will see a whole list and where you can register and sign up. I so hope to see you. Oh my gosh. I would love it. Meeting you all in person and being able to work side-by-side with you is such a dream come true. Oh, please, please, please sign up. Join me. Reach out if you've got questions, wonderings, anything else on this. But, I thought I would just personally invite you to some really incredible events that I have coming up. I would love to see you.

As always, huge thank you to Brooke for making this happen. Thank you to Marzano Resources and Solution Tree for providing these events for all of us to come together and take some deep dives into some really important topics. And, as always thank you to you, my bad-ass Self-Care Squad. Let's meet in person. Yay. I am so grateful for you. Have an incredible week.
